SCS is passionate about working with first responders and law enforcement professionals. Here, the culture is understood, and support is available to help manage stressors related to the job as well as personal stressors. You are called upon to handle stressful and traumatic experiences regularly which can have lasting impacts on your well-being, relationships with family/friends, and even how you show up on the job at times. These stressful experiences may happen so often the effects could go unnoticed or be difficult to understand.
"Suck it up"
Getting help is not a weakness... it's a strength
When you need help, it's hard to help others. You may be considering reaching out after a traumatic incident or just noticing you’re not quite feeling like yourself. We are here for both and either circumstance. You may also face additional challenges such as job-related stigma, social isolation, and difficulties in adjusting to civilian life after retirement. SCS provides space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings around work experiences and develop effective coping strategies to manage symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other mental health concerns.
Seeking therapy as a law enforcement professional or first responder can be a difficult decision and you can expect an environment where you feel comfortable and safe sharing concerns. The unique demands of first responders are respected here. Dark humor is welcomed and support is sturdy while you share about what you have seen on the job.
SCS also works with family members who have a loved one that is in law enforcement or a first responder.
